South Beach is located close to the popular Biscayne Bay. The beach itself is always busy, with plenty of people sunbathing, strolling along the sand, swimming in the crystal clear waters, or playing Frisbee or volleyball. Monkey Jungle is also popular with many tourists; this park is situated in the Cutler Bay area, and is home to over thirty species of primates. There is also a small, semi-natural tropical rainforest (the only one of its kind in North America).
Nature enthusiasts will love the Everglades National Park; with over a million acres of sub-tropical jungles, saw grass prairies and swamps, it is certainly of the USA’s most unique parks. It is home to fourteen endangered, rare species, including the West Indian Manatee, the Florida Panther and the American Crocodile. Although some areas of the park are not suitable for tourists, there are plenty of safe walkways and grassy areas where visitors can hike and camp.
